Hi there, it’s my turn to update you on Sophia’s progress. We had a splendit Easter weekend and my two girls are recuperating from the excitement of my daughter’s visit. Vanessa brought her wonderful boys, Miles, Tias, Nicky and of course Shelby, her year old English Shepard/Border Collie who acts like a whirlwind. And while Lilly welcomed them with her usual barking and prancing, Sophia was her reserved self.
Much to my surprise, there was no trembling or cowering as Sophia sat in her favorite kitchen corner observing their arrival. In fact it did not take her long to give into her curiosity about Shelby. By the second day of the visit, Sophia was romping in the yard with Shelby and wild girl Lilly. She visibly enjoyed the attention, the hugs and kisses she received from Vanessa and the boys, and I was impressed by the speed of her adjustment.
It has only been five weeks since Sophia joined our family and I am amazed at the changes in her demeanor. She now comes to me when I open my arms to her. After I have been away she greets me at the door, and quite often she follows me around the house to see what I am doing. She watches Lilly like a hawk and learns from her. Her rapid adjustment to our family is awesome and I am happy for all of us.
Thank you to BARC for rescuing her and a special thanks to her foster mom Linda in Dallas, TX. You made it all possible.
PS: I have lots of fun pictures, more will be posted tommorrow.
