On Wednesday we had fun in Dubuque. Mom at the coffee house and the girls at the groomers.
The drive was uneventful, Lilly hidding on the floor behind the driver’s seat and Sophia in the back seat boldly looking out the window. Arriving at the Urban Hound the fun began: Lilly had to be untangled from her leash before leaving the car and Sophia was standing by, but not for long. Like greased lightning she slid between the bucket seats and dove into the foot well under the steering wheel.
There she was, all settled in and giving me the look that said “OK mom, I found a safe place and I’m NOT moving.” So I took Lilly inside and handed her to Marie Josee. Outside again I tried to coax Sophia from her spot which proved to be IMPOSSIBLE. Well, I hate to admit it, but in the end we had to yank her out of the car. Surprisingly enough she did not mind and walked straight to the grooming shop.
What a girl, here she is in the passenger side well on our way home:
It’s a blessing that Sophia is not a full sized Berner like 150 lb. Luna who was at the Urban Hound. I doubt Luna would fit into such a tight spot.
After dropping off the girls I continued to the One Mean Bean for a delicious cafe latte made with organic milk and served with a smile by my friend Jackie. Here she is:
In June Jackie will travel to Taiwan to teach english for a year. I am very excited for her and look forward to her travel blog.
On my way home, at the Urban Hound, I picked up two squeeky clean girls who were ready to go.
Yup, that’s Sophia sniffing something on the floor. And here are the girls outside with Marie Josee.
