Yesterday Greg and Emma arrived as scheduled at 8:00 AM. It was a busy day and started with Emma marching off-leash into the house, her tail she carried high, her smile was big. Right behind her came Greg with Emma’s dog bed under one arm, her leash and coffee mug in hand.
As always, we start with a brief discussion of the day’s work and because the weather was so nice, we convened on the porch. Here are the girls enjoying the fresh air:
Actually, it is Sophia in the foreground with Lilly and Emma in the back – I think! As Emma is slimming down a bit it’s increasingly difficult to keep the two apart. But in the next picture it’s easy to tell who gets petted by Greg:
We took our morning walk along the field with all three girls off-leash — and in keeping with being happy Berner girls, Emma joined Sophia in finding a smelly spot and rolling in it with delight.
Back at the house Emma settled on her bed when Greg started his work — but not for long.
She followed Greg throughout the house as he was busy with his chores. Out the door she went with him when he got busy with his work outside. She followed him everywhere – down the lane to the tool shed and back – to the well where a shrub had to be moved – to the Elderberry bush to watch him harvest berries for the cold remedy to be prepared.
After lunch Greg decided to keep Emma inside for her nap and much to our surprise, she headed straight upstairs to snooze. The bedroom at Greg’s house is upstairs and she decided that she would keep her routeene.
It’s a pleasure to see sweet Emma settle in so fast with Greg. Of course, I had no doubt — after all, it was love at first sight, when they met a week ago.
